Goals & Targets

Abisko allow users to set organization-defined reduction goals for energy, emissions, water and waste at the property and portfolio level. Goals are defined relative to a baseline period and evaluated against a target period, enabling users to track progress over time and identify which properties are on track to meet their commitments. Portfolio → Goals (Energy, Emissions, Water, Waste)

Metric Tabs

Goals are tracked separately for each metric type. Use the tabs at the top of the page to switch between Energy, Emissions, Water, and Waste. Goals and baselines are configured independently for each metric.

Units

Use the units dropdown at the top right of the table to switch between available reporting units (e.g. kWh, MWh for energy). The absolute goal value and total consumption columns will update accordingly.

Setting Goals & Targets

Click the edit icon next to any portfolio or property name to open the goal configuration panel. Each goal requires the following:
  • Baseline Period: the reference period against which performance is measured (e.g. 1/1/2023 to 12/31/2023)
  • Target Period: the future period by which the goal should be achieved (e.g. 1/1/2028 to 12/31/2028)
  • Reduction (%): the target percentage reduction in total consumption relative to the baseline period

The first row in the table enables users to configure portfolio-level goals against which the total consumption of all properties is measured against.

Tracking Progress

The goals table displays the baseline and reporting period performance for the portfolio as well as for each property, along with goal parameters and progress metrics. Users can change the Reporting Period to evaluate progress as new data is collected. The table includes the following columns: Timeline
  • Baseline Period: The configured reference period for each property’s goal
  • Target Period: The year by which each property’s reduction goal should be achieved
Baseline Period
  • Completeness: Data completeness for the baseline period
  • Total Energy / Emissions / Water / Waste: Total consumption over the baseline period against which progress is measured
Reporting Period
  • Completeness: Data completeness for the selected reporting period
  • Total Energy / Emissions / Water / Waste: Total consumption for the reporting period
Users should always reference the data completeness values for both the baseline and reporting periods when evaluating goal progress, as low completeness can skew results.
Goal
  • Reduction: The configured reduction target (%)
  • Absolute: The absolute target value derived from the baseline period consumption and the configured reduction percentage (e.g. if baseline total energy is 100,000 kWh and the reduction target is 20%, the absolute goal is 80,000 kWh)
Progress
  • Change to Date: The percentage change between baseline period consumption and reporting period consumption. Displayed in green when consumption has decreased and red when it has increased.
  • Progress to Goal: The percentage of the required reduction that has been achieved as of the reporting period. A value of 100% indicates the goal has been met.
